2012 QEII Diamond Jubilee £5 Prestige PNC, Limited Mintage 1122/2500..

To mark this remarkable milestone the Royal Mint of the United Kingdom issued a £5 coin, the first ever to be struck with a full effigy of the Queen on both sides.

Both obverse and reverse portraits are by Ian Rank-Broadly FRBS. The obverse portrait was the first new portrait of the Queen to appear on a UK coin since 2007 and shows the Queen wearing her Garter Robes. The Order of the Garter is the oldest British order of Chivalry.

The reverse portrait was inspired by Mary Gillick's portrait of the Queen - the first portrait of the Sovereign to appear on UK circulating coins from 1953 until 1968. The design includes foliage, a specific reference to Queen Victoria, the only other monarch to achieve her Diamond Jubilee, in 1897.

This prestige PNC is limited to 2,500. You will be purchasing PNC number 1122.
