Hello,

Today I’m selling a rare version of Exakta VX1000 – Elbaflex. The name was changed due to ongoing law process of using Exakta name on cameras. The camera is identical to Exakta – the only difference is a badge with name, that’s why some users changed it into Exakta label. The result is that cameras with Elbaflex brand name are rare nowadays. Elbaflex took its name from Elba river in Dresden.

Moreover, a VX1000 was complete and last original model of Exakta. This generation had all features taken from previous versions like shutter times from 1/1000 s. up to 12 seconds, selftimer, internal film cutter, changeable prisms and matt screens, Exakta bayonet etc. Moreover, it had a new feature that predecessors didn't have - an instant return mirror.

What is rarely seen - lens on this auction is named only “aus Jena” with "T". It's a very similar situation to Elbaflex name - Carl Zeiss Jena also couldn't use its own names for some period of time. This unusual label is the only thing that differs "aus Jena" edition from "Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar" lens.

Elbaflex was produced only for one year – 1969.

Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 2,8/50 is a legendary lens. It gives very beautiful pictures.

Camera has a serial number: 1183653

External condition:

- Body is in a good condition, with small traces of use

- leathers are in an average condition (with abrasions and one small hole on a backplate)

- lens is without scratches, but it is fogged inside

- inside of a camera film chamber is clean

Technical condition:

- Shutter seems to be working very well:

- all exposure times are working

- matt screen (rare version with split image rangefinder circle) is in a good condition with only small scratches

- mirror has a fungus on the surface

- prism is in good condition, but it has small specks inside (doesn't affect on using)

- aperture operates fast and accurately

- focus is working good

- shutter counter works correctly

- shutter curtains are in a good condtion – leakproof

- all knobs and parts are working very well

I’m selling this camera with an original prism attached on a camera, a lens with a front lens cap and without a case.

I think camera pretends to be good for photographic and collectors needs.

Feel free to watch photos of this beautiful camera and samples done by this Tessar on digital camera below this text:
