This is an original early primitive country kitchen, 100% brass pail. It has the makers marks still stamped on the bottom of the pail, although some of the stamped in marks have been worn away by being on stone or brick early American kitchen floors.

You can still read:
MANUF'D BY E. M----- ---  Original stamped areas have been worn away over time and use.
EXT. 1___
H------- ----

The original stamped lettering would be:
MANUFACTURED BY E. MILLER CO.
EXT. 1873
HAYDEN'S PAT.
The pail is 7 3/4" H x 11 3/4" wide at the top. The base is 8" wide and the brass handle rises 6" above the top of the pail.
This is a highly sought after antique pail and the very good condition of this one makes it a rare find and highly desirable.
