A 3 row necklace of white lustrous ( you can see your reflection in them and see yourself wave) even matched, 6.5 to 7.00 mm diameter pearls. The longest stand is 25 inch and the shortest 23 inch.
The central strand sits a little longer than I thought it would but the matinee length is set to sit on the bust and I am afraid neither me nor the model are fortunate in that respect.
The catch is marked and tested for 14ct gold and is set with bands of small diamonds. Although it is not easy to tell the quality of pearls without handling them,  an expensive catch is always a good sign.
The pearls are probably Japanese Akoya, because they look like an Akoya pearl and the catch dates around the 1950's .This type of pearl was at the height of its popularity then.
There are approximately 250 hand strung silk knotted pearls.
