Here is a wonderful high end multi mineral specimen from this famous mine.
This mine is the only place in the world that these mineral can be found together, and the only place in the world that gem and specimen quality benitoite is found.
This is a wonderfully aesthetic specimen of these rare minerals.
This is a specimen of Benitoite and Neptunite crystals,
on and within the snowy white natrolite on a matrix of greenish blue schist.
There are 3 gemmy benitoite crystals present,
2 that are complete and not fully exposed.
The largest crystal, is 1.6 cm across the exposed area.
The benitoite crystals have both matte
and high luster faces and are very gemmy.
There are crystals of Neptunite that have high luster faces,
a few also show some red flash to them.
Some would have trimmed these off the specimen, but I like the contrasting color addition to the specimen.
There is a good amount of gem quality material in this specimen, but having a good idea of what could be cut from the crystals, this is why it has been valued at this price, hoping this beauty will stay a specimen,
so I have priced this specimen in hopes to keep it from the hands of a cutter.
