Antique cremone bolt (genuine, from early 20th century) for windows. The items are clean from paints, polished and in working condition. The items are not sold with the metal rods (sticks) or with the screws (these are not included).
A cremone or espagnolette is a locking device mounted on the vertical wood frame of a french door or casement window. A handle or knob is connected to a metal rod mounted to the surface of the frame. Operating the handle (to left or right) rotates the rod which has hooks at each end that fit into sockets at the head and makes to lock/unlock the window.
Also, can be used as lock device on an old armoire/cabinet or just as a decorative handle (for other windows/doors)
The cremones are authentic and come from very old romanian mansions (from those times when my town, Bucharest, was called "Little Paris"). These cremones were saved from demolished old houses.
