The lamp is a scrolling iron with a bronze patinated base in the form of a parrot tulip facedown. The iridized glass shade is by  Northwood - likely from 1910-20's. It is ribbed  bell shaped, quite thick and hefty with beautiful marigold iridization - what Northwood is noted for in carnival glass. It is marked around the narrow "waist" close to the socket end. The glass shade is in  good condition. Some loss of paint  but minimal. The scratch is superficial. Issues on the glass do not stand out.  No chips or cracks. The lamp is not original to the shade. ( To secure proper attachment, the shade has to be held close to the socket cup while the screws are gently tightened.) The shade is 5" long; the mouth is 4 3/4 wide and the socket end is 2 1/4" (1 1/2" insert opening). Northwood shades are hard to come by and are highly desirable.
