Early original vintage Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) an American Indian identified by his signature at the bottom left as “Chief Manitou”.

Chief Manitou was the name adopted by Pedro Cesete, a Pueblo Indian who entertained visitors to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Manitou Springs, Colorado, in the early 20th century.

The Cliff Dwellings are a tremendous educational experience. The dwellings provide a detailed insight into the lives of the ancient Anasazi Native Americans that lived in Four Corners region of southwest Colorado. Many bands of the Anasazi Pueblo People came to the area beginning about 700 AD and mysteriously left the region in the 1300s for reasons mostly unknown . Most archaeologists believe the Anasazi were the ancestors of today's Pueblo Indian Tribes that occupy areas of Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.

Real Photo Post Card measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches and is in very good condition with light surface wear. There are no bends, tears, or creases and the image is very sharp and has strong tones with good contrast and clarity.
