Rietveld "Divantable" (original was designed in 1923) - Schröderhouse table RARE.

A rare ''Divantable'' designed by Gerrit Rietved (1924) for the Schröder Rietveld House (owned by Truus Schröder).

The Divantable (Schröder 1) was designed to match with the divan in the house. It is exemplary for ''De Stijl''. Each panel is colored by contrasting colors.

This international design icon is true to the original which is displayed in the Schröderhouse and the Centraal Museum Utrecht (The Netherlands). Only his carpenter Gerard van de Groenekan and later also Cassina (Italy) had the commercial rights to make these designs.

It's a very unique and playful piece. Elegant in its well thought out simplicity. Rietveld applied height, depth and width in almost all his designs.

No (readable) markings/signature.
