Presented here is a lovely vintage reproduction of an etching by well-listed British artist, Frederick Slocombe, which he etched after a painting by James MacWhirter, titled "Autumn".  The image depicts a woman climbing a trail through a forested hillside, and in the background is visible a lake surrounded by more wooded hills.  Two more figures can be seen on the trail below.  This piece was printed in dark sepia ink on a heavy weight art stock, and may have been part of a portfolio or book.  The image measures 5 3/4" wide x 8 1/2" tall, on a paper sheet measuring 9 3/8" x 11 3/4".  Immediately below the image, printed in the plate, is the attribution of the image, "Painted by J. MacWhorter" (MacWhirter is misspelled) on the left, and "Etched by Fred Slocombe" on the right.  Additionally, in the lower left corner of the image, within the etching, a shortened version of the painter's name appears -- "MacW".  Printed in script below the center of the image is the title, "Autumn".  The condition of this print is excellent, with only one spot of light discoloration at the bottom paper edge, and some light surface skinning in the top margin.  All in all, a great-quality reproduction of a beautiful etching by a master artist, and ready to be framed and enjoyed!
