Our repair kit will reduce the total cost of your repair by 75 to 95%.

On Escapes, Tributes and Mariners, rear inner fenders are prone to rust and are extremely hard to replace when rusted out. On the assembly line, they are spotwelded over other thin body panels, along their edges. In turn, those rust from underneath exactly where they meet the fender panel. Thus, welding a brand new fender panel on a rusted body turns out to be a labour intensive option that would only postpone the problem further around. Have a look at our installation video below for a comprehensive demonstration.

Our solution is simple.

  1. This reinforcement bracket: Made of thick 304 stainless steel, it bolts to the frame to support your shock and reinforce the whole assembly. It is precisely designed for a perfect fit in the empty space between the shock absorber and the original shock mount on your specific year-model, without affecting the suspension travel/stiffness/angles/alignement;
  2. a fiberglass patch to re-seal the fender against water infiltration (if necessary) and a rustproofing spray of your choice to prevent further corrosion (it could be a can of oil-based or wax-based spray like Fluid Film® or Woolwax®, or an undercarriage rubber spray, or else). Any of those can be found in most hardware stores for a few dollars.

Our repair approach for rusted fenders and shock mounts is different. Instead of replacing the fender, save time and money by installing:

The rear-passenger side is shown as an example, but this listing is for the REAR-DRIVER side.

This problem is extremely common, and our solution is simple. We have been there to help people repair a variety of affected vehicle for years, and now is your turn. Satisfaction guaranteed.

The reinforcement bracket can be installed either as a preventive maintenance on a shock mount that is not yet tearing off, or as a repair solution on one that is completely or partially detached, with identical results. Installation only takes 2 hours of labour total per shock, with basic tools and knowledge. That is a huge save on time and/or labour costs.

Q: Do you sell replacement wheel arch panels?

A:

We don't and we won't. We had bad experiences with these. Look closely at what remains around for welding before thinking of replacing it. The rust ALWAYS extends further than it looks under the edges where this body panel meets one next to it. Preparing the surface for welding is enough to realise that the remaining metal is super thin and that you'd need to weld in a larger piece than just the panel that holds the shock, especially at the bottom and top edges. For this particular application, replacing the wheel arch metal panel only postpones the problem further. This is why we now exclusively use and recommend a bolt-on-frame bracket reinforcement along with fiberglass. It's cheaper, easier and tougher. Period. In a few minutes, fiberglass fills the gaps and seals against water infiltration from the inside, while on the outer side, a sprayed layer of your favorite rustproofing oil or liner will prevent futher corrosion for a few dollars (something that you'll have to do anyway). Speaking of strength, the combination of fiberglass with our 3/8'' thick metal shock mount and graded bolts in the frame is HUGE compared the thin sheet metal that the vehicle is made of. In this case, there are many reasons to reinforce rather than replace, in terms of durability, parts cost and installation time. Our product will outperform a new body panel for all those reasons, and we stand behind it.

Q: Will it affect the way the car drives or make it less safe?
A:

Absolutely not. When the reinforcement bracket is installed, the suspension components keep all their properties. Our patent-pending design and the thickness of the steel we use (3/8'') make the bracket 5 times thicker than the original equipment. This means our product is much more resistant to wear and tear than even the original material,  while keeping the same driving characteristics.

Our products have been tested and every one of our them adhere to strict quality control prior to shipment. No amount of driving, regardless of road conditions can affect the bracket to a point where it could break. This is part of our extensive and rigorous warranty. If ever one of our brackets didn’t make it to the end of the useful life of the car, we would offer a 100% refund or replacement. We stand behind every one of our products!

Q: My car has severe rust in the fender. Can I still save it from going to         the scrapyard?

A:

In typical cases, the rust spreads all around the original shock mount, which may eventually tear off completely from the body and look really awfull. In other typical cases, it remains barely attached to the body, typically in the lower portion of the mount near the frame rail, and is rusted in the upper portion. Rust may spread in other areas in the fender as well, which is very common too.

At first sight, it may look like there is no hope to repair it (a lot of rust... teared metal... pieces falling off), yet it is totally repairable. The shock can be secured to the frame with our product, then the wheel arch can be cleaned and resealed to prevent further corrosion.

A surprising number of our customers have been told, prior to finding our product, that their vehicle was beyond repair. Well, their vehicle is now back on the road and they are glad to let us know. That happens again and again. Extending the useful life of those vehicles is one of our company's goals, and is truly rewarding. Hoping yours is the next one we can save!

Q: Will it pass a safety test?

A:

We guarantee that it will and we've got you covered: In the unlikely event it should ever occur, we would offer a 100% refund for the original cost of both parts and installation labour.

Q: I don't know much about mechanics. Can I install it by myself?

A:

We guarantee that the installation does not require any sort of advanced knowledge of mechanics. If you know how to remove a wheel, how to use a grinder and a drill, you'll be able to follow the steps of our installation manual without any problems.

If ever you receive the product and feel like you are not able to install it because it's out of your skill range, you can ask your local mechanic to install it for you OR you can return it back for a refund.

Q: What if I order it and I change my mind about installing it? Can I return the product for a refund?

A:

Our return policy is simple: You have 60 days after receiving your order to return it for a refund.

Feel free to contact us, we're there to help!
