Fabulous antique silverplated dressmaker's chatelaine with 5 matching original repousse pattern tools hanging from a filigree cherub belt hook.   The tools include a retractable pencil, a pivot slide open notebook, a pincushion, an open thimble holder, and embroidery scissors sheath.   The thimble holder has replaced thimble and the scissors sheath is empty.
There cherub belt hook is 2-1/4" in diameter.   The 5 tools hang on fancy openwork floral links that are 4" to 8" long and the total length of chatelaine from top to bottom is 12-1/2".  The pivoting hooks that attach tools to chain unscrew to open, I haven't tried to fool with any of them.  The previous owner attached a small piece of wire to top of cherub hook in order to hang for display, and I have left it, but easily removed with no damage.  The dark blue velvet pincushion edges and inside of scissors sheath show signs of age and use, but still good.  Chatelaine not marked or signed, silverplating has nice patina and it is not worn.  A treasure worthy of any collection.
