A wonderfully fine and scarce oil on canvas by Arthur Joseph Meadows (1842-1907) British.

'A Venetian View', depicting gondolas with figures on a Venetian lagoon with buildings to the left foreground and in the background. 

With the characteristic soft and subtle palette employed in many of the artist's works also showing fine colour and distance perspective. 

In good condition, housed in an excellent carved wood and gesso frame, ready to hang.

The image dimensions are approximately: 14 1/4'' x 10 1/4'   (36cm x 26cm). 

Provenance:

A fine 19th century work of art, this came to my collection from a family accumulation of British art in Southern Germany.
