ANTIQUE DOOR KNOCKER 

A genuine antique Victorian cast iron door knocker with integral strike plate by the sought-after maker: Archibald Kenrick of West Bromwich. It is in unpainted finish. The knocker has blacksmith made bespoke coach bolts which will suit a door of up to 55mm (approx) thick (or more if the nuts are countersunk).
The knocker features a cherub playing a pipe and the musical theme with swags, bows and grape vine is also on the rear fixing / strike plate. The rear of the backplate shows the maker's mark for A. Kenrick & Sons, the pattern number: 425 and a registration diamond which dates the original design to 11th April 1883. 

Date: late 19th Century, during or after 1883.

Condition. Good functional condition and ready for installation if a plain unfinished iron appearance is desired. Sensitively stripped of approx. 140 years worth of old coats of paint to reveal the casting detail and left in unfinished state, for the buyer to decide upon future appearance.
