INDIAN BIDRIWARE BOWL

A charming early 20th Century antique Indian silver-inlaid bidriware bowl decorated with eight fish. Bidriware originated in the town of Bidar in Southern India. It is a complex eight stage manufacturing process which involves patinating white brass with copper oxide to give a black colour, the design is chiselled and pure silver is inlaid into the surface.

Date: early 20th Century.

Condition. Good condition. One small area of original repair to the brass casting.
