Vintage Official BSA red wool Jacket Boy Scouts America size 38. Code 553 also in neck of shirt near size.
Defects/Imperfections: See photos. There is some moth damage on the front of the coat. Note arrows pointing to damage.

Size 38 looks like approximately an Adult Medium. Either 100% wool or wool blend (no tag indicating and both types were made by BSA vendors). Purchased and worn in the 1960s.
Measurements:
laying flat, buttoned, arm pit to arm pit = 21"
top of shoulder, near neck to the bottom of shirt in front = approx 27"
sleeve is 17.5 in long measuring from the middle of the sleeve, cuff to seam where it attaches to vest/main part of shirt.
widest part of sleeve (upper arm) is about 17" around (8.5" laying flat).
