Russia: Peter I (the Great), 1 Rouble 1721, Kadashevsky Mint, AU-53 NGC, from the famous Eric P. Newman Collection. KM #157.5, Diakov-5, Bitkin 485 (Portrait 17.4) Large rosette above head. Pleasant old patina, great details. The surface patination is nicely variegated between olive and gray. Comes from an old collection of the famous American numismatist. It should be mentioned that Mr. Newman had an eye for numismatic beauty and quality, and assembled a very large comprehensive coin collection of outstanding caliber. He stopped collecting in 1964 (59 years ago) and more that half a century later (!!!) sold his entire collection over several years around 2014. He was 99 years old at that time. So, no modern copies, no high tech fakes, but rather impeccable pedigree and 100% unquestionable authenticity.
