Gorgeous Antique English Silver Plated Biscuit Barrel, madeby Charles Hawksworth and John Eyre, of Sheffield, England. The firm made bothsterling and plated silver beginning in 1833. This biscuit barrel dates to thevery early 1900's.

 

The body is beautifully hand engraved with bright cut floraldesigns, shells and flourishes. The footed apron (attached tray) has expertlyapplied beading as does the lid and knob. In gorgeous condition for the age,this is such a lovely decorative addition to your prettiest tea table.
