Believe: successful diversification of the classic Pendragon sound

With their album “Believe“ from 2005 Pendragon have
widened their musical style. The integration of Celtic and world music elements,
of more rocky parts with harder riffs and of many acoustic elements on the
other side make “Believe” more multifaceted and varied than previous Pendragon
albums. This album has a fresher, more modern sound with stronger guitar
orientation and less keyboard parts. It gets its dynamics from many tempo and
rhythm changes and the interplay of acoustic and electric guitar work. The production under
participation of Karl Groom and sound
quality of this album are very good. So this Pendragon CD has found a broad
positive echo in internet music reviews.
This is the reissued CD version on the Madfish label from 2011 which is out of
stock in the meantime.

Mit
ihrem Album “Believe“ von 2005 haben Pendragon ihren musikalischen Stil
erweitert. Die Einbindung von keltischen und World-Music-Elementen, von mehr
rockigen Anteilen mit härteren Gitarrenriffs und vielen akkustischen Elementen auf der
anderen Seite machen “Believe” vielschichtiger und abwechslungsreicher als
vorherige Pendragon-Alben. Das Album hat einen frischeren, moderneren Sound mit
stärkerer Gitarrenorientierung und und weniger Keyboardanteilen und bezieht
seine Dynamik aus vielen Tempo- und Rhythmuswechseln und dem Wechsel
zwischen akkustischer und elektrischer
Gitarrenarbeit. Die Produktion, an der auch Karl Groom mitgewirkt hat, und
Soundqualität sind auch auf diesem Album wieder sehr gut. So hat auch diese
Pendragon-CD ein breites positives Echo bei Internet-Kritiken gefunden.
