NGC authenticated and graded UNC Details. Lustrous steel brown and light chocolate with reddish chocolate toning covering the right third of the reverse. There is a small arc of microscopic reddish verdigris at the lower half of the 31 in the date and a few microscopic specks of similar verdigris on the reverse at ES-OF-AM. None of the verdigris is deep or visible without the aid of a glass. The only contact marks are a few faint hairline scratches on the central reverse, apparently enough for NGC to give this a Details grade. Traces of faded mint color show in protected areas around stars 1-4. EDS, before any die cracks on the obverse. During the Naftzger Collection sale this was called AU55 and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes said MS60 net EF40 and tied for CC#5, his photo #21260. Small Letters Reverse.
