Vintage circa 1950's Jeannette Glass Company pale Shell Pink Milk Glass 10" Pedestal Cake Stand with Beaded Edges

This cake plate is loaded with vintage charm and delicate retro aesthetic. The platform is decorated with a pressed geometric sunburst design, encircled with beading along the edge. A 4" pedestal is decorated with harps and flourishes in relief, sitting atop the beadwork embellished foot.

This particular shade of opaque pink glassware is often referred to as "Shell Pink" or "Clam Broth Pink" due to its resemblance to the color of shells or clam broth.

The Jeanette Glass Company introduced the Shell Pink color as a variation of their Jeanette Pink Milk Glass line around 1956. This color became popular and was produced for a limited time, typically between 1956 and 1959.

Measures:

10 1/8" in Diameter

5" Tall

This vintage pedestal cake plate does show some wear from the years. The primary flaw is an old fine 1/2" hairline crack on the edge of the platform. It is shown in close-up. We recommend reinforcing to preserve the structure for years to come. There is some scuffing on some of the beading, visible with dark residue or transfer. On the underside of the platform, there are a few dark spots and a line of color inconsistency in the glass itself from production.
