The US Navy heavy frigate is the oldest still seaworthy warship in the world. The USS Constitution is also known by the nickname Old Ironsides, which is attributed to the fact that enemy projectiles are said to have bounced off the ship’s strong sides. Built in 1797, the frigate celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1997, setting sail for the first time in over 100 years. 

The motive of the silver bullion coin shows an image of the USS Constitution on the high seas and a compass in the background.
