Handmade unique crooked Walking Stick Size 32" long - All Wood -Possibly Native American


This is an absolutely beautiful wooden walking stick that measures approximately 32” long x 6” wide (at the handle) x 2” wide at widest point on the shaft. The handle portion also measures 1-3/8” (where handle forms) in height x 1” deep on handle. There also appears to be a vine wrapping around the shaft and a rubber tip at the bottom.

This walking stick was obtained from a local estate sale. When I inquired about the origin of it from the woman’s daughter, she said indeed they were members of a Native American tribe. Other items purchased supported this as well.

Folk art canes, unlike their more formal counterparts, by definition were made by single, often untrained artisans. There purpose was to cast attention on the creator not the carrier; they were an expression of the artists skill and personality and can be distinguished from formal canes in various ways.
