Nottinghamshire by Thomas Moules 1842

Steel engraved map.

Thomas Moules (1784-1851) was a writer on heraldry and antiques born in Marylebone in London.  He had a business as a bookseller in Duke Street and for many years held the office of Chamber -Keeper at the Royal Chamberlains Department.  During the 1830 he produced a series of illustrated maps of the English counties and these were collected in a two volume work 'English Counties Delineated' in 1836.  The map were re-issued again in 1841, showing railways which had been constructed, in 'Barclays complete and universal English Dictionary' .  This work was re-issued a number of times up to 1852.  This map is from the 1842 edition.

Page size is 26.5cm by 21cm
Map area is in reasonable condition for age, engravings are clear. Some stains, marks and browning.
