Here's new construction using new and used parts, and weeks of welding/grinding/body filler/sanding, the whole deal. The truck with enclosed bed box has a Structo aluminum cab, but every square inch of the steel bed box is home made, crazy labor in this bed box. The truck with boom has a matching Structo aluminum cab, bed was made from a Tonka pickup box (don't even remember which vehicle), it's highly modified, and the boom came from a Tonka fire truck, but it's also highly modified. The boom features 3 different hydraulic cylinders (manually operated), and each has a knurled set screw knob for locking bucket boom into any height/position. Boom swirls around on a 360 degree angle. The only thing on the Vermeer wood chipper trailer that I didn't make was the aluminum tractor engine, and the nylon chain and sprockets that I got from McMaster Carr- - -everything else is entirely custom made with steel, welding, grinding, sanding, the whole deal. The chipper has the exact Vermeer logo decals, and the boom has the exact Altec logo decals. And for better curb appeal I have added $100 worth of brand spanking new Tonka rubber tires and stainless steel hub caps onto all three pieces- - -easy deal.
