Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a popular and very unique Turner 22D dynamic model microphone. This model was manufactured and sold during the 1940's and has a classic deco vibe with a "bullet" type appearance which was typical of many mics from that period and earlier before losing favor. The 22D was an all metal design with a satin chrome finish and had some size and weight to it. It was an entry level model that was both affordable and rugged with good overall sound. This mic comes with the period Astatic E6G model desk stand in which to display and the short cable to complete the look.

You'll see in pic # 2 an old Turner advertisement showing the specs and prices on this 22D as well as a few other Turner models.

I should noted that this mic does not work as the element is dead though it's still inside the housing. This should used for display, prop or repair purposes only.

The 22 series came in several different styles over the years with the only changes coming in the lower half that carried the Turner badge and the type of element used. The 22 model microphone either had the crystal element or the Dynamic element. All 22D's carried the dynamic element which normally held up better than the crystal elements over the past 70 years.

This unit has the 1st generation rounded lower front and rounded rear pistol grip. The overall finish is very nice with tiny scratches and scuff marks. Zero dents, chrome loss or fractures.   The front grill looks great as does the inner black cloth screen. I would give a this mic a conservative 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. A true piece of Americana and a conversation piece anywhere it sits.

The threading for the cable and mic stand are perfect. No issues. Solid inside and out and the   Turner badge looks very good with lite wear and completely legible.

The mic comes with a period Astatic E6G model detachable desk stand that really compliments the mic and makes for a very stable platform.

The E6G is a two piece design with the painted wood handle and painted aluminum base. It comes with a small on / off toggle switch that was installed many years ago by a previous user. It's no longer wired but always could be again in the future.

The stand is in very good condition and comparable to the mic. The paint on both the handle and base shows just very lite wear. The stand still has the rubber bottom pads and as you can see the handle detached from the base with a twisting motion. Easy on and off. This was a great design as back in the day the broadcaster or musician rarely held the mic. The handle made it possible to walk around with the mic in your hand.

Total dimensions with mic and stand are 11 inches tall X 5 inches wide.

You'll notice that there is a short vintage cable to complete the look of the mic. It's properly wired as well. Just 12 inches long. Soft pliable and has the vintage female 1/4 inch end connector.

A fine piece that will really pop anywhere it's displayed.

As with all my vintage items...
