Up for auction is an original box of NEW ERA Potato Chips along with an original photo of a woman holding a box of New Era chips while she snacks on them.  A unique pairing... the box and photograph and not commonly found together.

The box and the photo are circa 1930's - 1940's.  The chip box measures approximately 13.25" x 8.5".   The photo of the woman measures approx. 3.25" x 4.25".  

ABOUT THE "NEW ERA" POTATO CHIP BRAND:

New Era was founded in Detroit, Michigan in the 1920's. They had four plants throughout the Midwest and was one of the dominant potato chips in the region.  During the1970's, potato chips sales declined.  With sales declining, the New Era Potato Chip company was bought out by Frito Lay.  New Era closed in 1981. 

Oh, by the way... ya gotta love the slogan they used, right on box.  They advertised the chips as "Scientifically Processed".  Okay... ;-)
