I have for sale an original Civil War Era bayonet & belt setup.

On the belt is a Gaylord percussion box. Overall it is in good condition, but there is a tear around the hole in the strap, allowing it to slide out. You can see an example of this in the (13th) photo above. The percussion box also has one of the straps for the belt snapped. It is all present but just broken. There is also another small unmarked leather pouch, on the belt, which can be seen in the (7th) photo above. The scabbard is marked W. H. Hipple, Philadelphia, and the belt is unmarked.

There is some flaking to the leather on the scabbard but overall it is in good condition. The original Civil War / Post Civil War buckle is good condition. A couple of the corners are slightly bent down, but they can be straightened.

The scabbard is 19" in length, the bayonet is 15 3/4" in total length including the socket, and the blade is approximately 14". I am not sure if the bayonet has been cut down or if this is the incorrect bayonet for the scabbard. There looks to be some old paint on a little over 1/2 of the blade. The rest of the bayonet has some rust. I have provided over (100) photos below in the listing to give you an extremely thorough view of everything included in the auction. I don't have any identification for the set.

If you have any questions, and/or need more photos, please send me a message.

Thank You
