c 1830 William Ridgeway & Co matched ovoid Chinoiserie serving dishes

The larger is 21 cm wide and 10 cm deep, the smaller is 15.5 cm wide and 7.5 cm deep, and display superbly together.

These stunning hand painted over transfer print dishes remain as vibrant and pristine as the day they were crafted in the Bell Works, Shelton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire in the Imari palette of rust and cobalt blue.

In perfect original antique condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify. There are kiln scorch marks and a few pin sized kiln spits typical of the period. The largest one has a scorch mark to the underside (refer image 3). On one end of the smaller one is nibble to the clay which was over painted in the factory.

Both pieces bear the beehive WR back stamp.
