KIAWAH ISLAND Reproduction of the Walter Palmer ‘Proud Pelican’ Sculpture Figure.

‘ This ‘Proud Pelican’ is a miniature reproduction of a 30 inch Walther Palmer bronze, commissioned by the Kiawah Island company. The pelican was selected as a symbol of grace and natural beauty, apropos of Kiawah). The original bronze is on permanent display in the lobby of the Kiawah Island Inn’.

It appears that the sculpture is made from some sort of a resin product and the base is made from wood.

Measures approximately 13 7/8 inches high by 3 1/4 inches wide by 4 1/8 inches wide at base.

Actual pelican sculpture measures approximately 12 inches high by 4 inches wide by 2 1/4 inches deep.

Looks like a plaque of some sort is missing from one side of the sculpture’s base.
