Up for sale is a lovely example of the Kalimar 80mm f/2.8 lens in KALIMAR 660/Six Sixty/Reflex m44 mount.

First, a bit about this item as a lens:

This is Kalimar's improved Kaligar normal lens, introduced with the Six Sixty model Medium Format SLR camera. It features a faster
This lens is capable of producing lovely images with great sharpness with a similar angle of view to the human eye when used on 6cmx6cm medium format.

Mechanically, it is a beautiful, tiny, gem-like lens, battleship gray and silver and, about the same size as a standard 50mm lens on 35mm format. It features gorgeous all-metal construction with tremendous fit and finish, giving its preset aperture and focus mechanisms and incredibly silky feel. The exterior features light handling wear with minor paint chipping and a tiny ding in the front filter ring. (see pics)

Optically, this example is in excellent condition, with glass free of scratches, haze, and fungus.

And now for the OTHER part about this lens.

This model of lens is indeed  the same one that was used for the eyepieces of Luke Skywalker's macrobinoculars prop in Star Wars, A New Hope, making it a highly sought-after find for fans wanting to build an authentic replica prop.. This example features identical exterior machining and color scheme as those used in the original prop but does not have the add-on semicircular focus ring projections, which would have to be sourced elsewhere.
