Be sure to get all of your 2023 coins for back-up while they’re still inexpensive and easy to find!

You will receive:

One Jovita Idar American Women Quarter minted at the United States Mint in Philadelphia.

Coins are taken from U.S. Mint original packaging, carefully placed with gloves in 2×2 Cowen’s or Guardian flip holders, and shipped in strong plain envelopes. The business strike coins may not be perfect as marks, dings, and blemishes can occur in the machine minting and shipping process. We remove the most-unsightly coins so you won’t be unpleasantly surprised.

About Jovita Idar:

The Jovita Idar Quarter is the ninth coin in the American Women Quarters™ Program. Jovita Idar was a Mexican-American journalist, activist, teacher, and suffragist. She devoted her life to fighting against separatist ideologies and sought to create a better future for Mexican-Americans.

Idar was born on September 7, 1885, in Laredo, Texas. The daughter of a newspaper editor and a civil rights advocate, Idar was exposed to journalism and political activism at a very young age.

Her ideas and practices were ahead of her time. She made it her mission to pursue civil rights for Mexican-Americans and believed education was the foundation for a better future. Idar wrote many news articles in various publications speaking out about racism and supporting the revolution in Mexico.

In 1911, she joined the First Mexicanist Congress in Laredo and organized Mexican-American activists. She and other women formed La Liga Femenil Mexicanista, or the League of Mexican Women, a political and charitable organization that sought to empower Mexican-American women. Idar was chosen as its first president.

Jovita Idar died in San Antonio, Texas on June 15, 1946. Throughout her life, she remained on the front lines of change and advocated fiercely for the rights of women and Mexican-Americans.

The reverse (tails) features a depiction of Jovita Idar with her hands clasped. Within her body are inscriptions representing some of her greatest accomplishments and the newspapers for which she wrote.*

Shipping Policy

We ship on regular business days. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will be shipped on the next business day. Orders over $200 require signature on delivery.

eBay Standard Envelope Service:  We ship many coin orders (three or less coins weighing under three ounces) in 2x2 flips using via United States Postal Service (USPS) First-Class mail using eBay Standard Envelope labels. You need to use eBay’s website software to track these envelopes. Note that these envelopes travel through the USPS network slowly. As well, note that USPS may also be slow in updating tracking information to the eBay software.

High Speed Sorters: The USPS First-Class mailing system by default processes standard envelopes through high-speed sorters. This can, and does, damage coins. It also can cause other shipping issues, such as delayed delivery.

If you DO NOT wish your coins to go through high-speed sorters, you can add a small additional fee ($0.48) to your purchase and we will forward this payment to the USPS for your item as a service for our customers. Your order will not be run through high-speed postal sorters while still benefiting from eBay Envelope's tracking service. This method is highly recommended by us AND meets all of the USPS requirements for sending coins though their system. If you wish this service for your order, choose "First Class" shipping at checkout.

Combined Shipping Discount: We cheerfully Combine Shipping charges for all the items in your shopping cart at the time of purchase. This is done automatically for you in eBay's checkout procedure. If there is an issue combining, please message us BEFORE paying the invoice. Once an invoice is paid, we can no longer offer a Combined Shipping discount.

Combined shipping is NOT available on items that include free shipping.

International Shipping: We will ship allowed items internationally and only through eBay International Shipping. There is no free option for International shipping.
