A charming work, a landscape with a little boy guiding cattle. The work has been titled Alleen - The Alley. The motif is from Southern Sweden
Niels Skovgaard is son of the Danish landscape painter P.C. Skovgaard, and a brother to artist Joachim Skovgaard.
He was educated by his father P C Skovgaard, and attended the Royal Danish Academy of Arts 1874-1879. In 1888-89 NKS travelled to Greece and Italy with artist Kristian Zahrtmann.
He is represented at several Danish museums with paintings and graphic works, including this work.
