 You are looking at a classic 1980's era Shure Brothers PE-585 (Same as 585SA model) dynamic cardioid microphone with excellent sound quality and set at high impedance. The microphone comes with a short vintage cable, Shure mic clip, new exterior pop filter and Shure mic pouch.

 Pic # 2 is from a catalog I have showing all of the mics performance characteristics but not included in this sale.

 This was a bread butter mic for Shure Brothers. They sold possibly tens of thousands of these during the 1960's, 70's and 80's as they were rugged, reliable, practical and provided a very clean sound. A mic that could be used for general broadcasting, singing and was even used as a harp mic by many musicians due to the high impedance setting. A real workhorse with excellent uni-directional characteristics.

 The mic is actually more of a mid range tone and if you get right up on the front grill it produces a bit more bass.

 These older mics are usually in rough condition after all these years so I have to put a lot of work into getting these up to par for resale.

 The satin chrome finish shows very lite wear as seen in the pics provided. The satin chrome has a gorgeous luster even after years of handling. The Shure logo that encircles the globe looks very nice with zero wear and completely legible. The chrome globe is free of any tarnish or odors but there are some subtle dents. I added a new foam liner / pop filter to the inside of the globe as the old one had completely fell apart and this helps greatly with the sound characteristics. 

 This PE-585 also came as the 585SA model and there is no difference between the two models. Just the model # given. 

 This PE-585 comes with a short vintage Amphenol cable that's in great usable condition and comes with a Switchcraft male XLR end connector. The cable is soft and pliable.  Free of any cracks or dry rot. Simply leave the short cable on the mic and add any longer XLR cable as an extension when you are ready to do your thing.

 The mic clip is a replica Shure A-25 model type. The clip works excellent for this mic giving the user a wide degree of tilt up and down and hold the mic tightly. The clip shows no wear and works perfectly. It will screw onto any mic stand.

 The original Shure mic case is also included. It's in excellent condition. It still has the two original foam pads inside to keep the contents snug and safe.

 Overall I would rate this mic physically a 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department.   A great quality mic. She's got plenty of life left in her. Made right here in America and built to last!
