This listing is for a thin section of Cambrian age limestone preserving the remains of Archaeocyathids. These enigmatic fossils don't come up for sale very often and these thin sections show some nicely preserved details. Originally thought to be sponges but now a distinct group.

The images show the exact specimen you will receive. The label indicates the genus/species and the locality from which the specimen came. At present we have specimens from the Ajax Limestone and Wilkawillina Limestone. Many preserve all the diagnostic features of the group such as septa, walls, pores etc.

Each specimen is mounted on a 1x3 inch glass slide. Please note these are not professionally made thin section and are not made to a specific thickness, but as the images show they do exhibit plenty of nice details and are suitable for study.
