This auction is for a hard to find Whiting Honeysuckle Electroplate serrated serving knife.  The knife can be used to cut bread or to serve desserts.  The knife is electroplate which are layers of silverplate attached to a base metal.  The knife has a decorative blade in addition to the honeysuckle on the handle.  The pattern was patented in 1874.  The sterling silver pattern was patented in1870.  The knife is in overall good condition for it's age.  There are a couple of issues that I found on the knife and they are as follows:  The tip of the backside of the knife looks to a dark line and possibly one of the layers is wearing (see attached picture).  I have looked at it under a magnifying glass and you can see silver on the tip but there is a dark line across and it looks like to me that they top layer of silver is missing.  The other issue I see is on the back side of the handle.  There is a dark spot on the edge of the knife and a copy of spots.  The knife is
approximately 9 3/4" long. The piece has been polished and is ready for entertaining.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you want additional pictures. Also please know that this isn't my full time job so if you ask a question it may take me some time to respond. Thank you for looking at my auction.
