A large lamellar hat mushroom with a cobweb cover. The cap of adult mushrooms reaches 5-10 cm in diameter, in young mushrooms it is hemispherical, then it opens to be convex and flat, mucous, and fibrous when dried. The color of young mushrooms is blue, then becomes light ocher, along the edge with a blue tint that persists. The plates of the hymenophore, which have grown into a notch on the stem, are blue in young fruit bodies, turning brown with age.
The pulp is grayish-blue, with a fresh taste.
The stem reaches 4-6 cm in length and 1.2-2.5 cm in thickness, with a noticeable tuberous thickening at the base, with a bluish-purple, at the base ocher-yellow surface.
The spore print is rusty brown in color. Spores 8-12x5-7μm, almond-shaped, with a warty surface.
