Features John Galliano's most famous and recognizable newspaper print, also known as the "Gazette".

It is a wonderful cotton top, very thin, semi-transparent, black with the drawings done in white, it is simply beautiful.

This top has thin, non-adjustable straps, with an ornament that simulates a fixed metallic knot on the front to adjust it.

It has a 6.5" side zipper closure to cinch it to the chest area.

Newspaper printing has quite an interesting history in fashion. Her original creator, Elsa Schiaparelli, used press clippings of herself, both favorable and unfavorable. John Galliano first used newsprint as part of his infamous "Hobo Chic" collection for Dior Haute Couture Spring 2000, printing pages from The International Herald Tribune on oversized hedgehog pants. He was inspired by the way the homeless people he saw walking along the Seine were covered in newspapers, as well as the "Tramp Balls" of the 1920s and 1930s, where the Parisian elite were poorly dressed. Critics were ambivalent, many accusing him of gratuitously aestheticizing homelessness. In response, for the fall of 2000, Galliano created the fictional Christian Dior Daily and added his own portrait to print, recycling it in many subsequent collections and for his own brand, as seen here.
