Antique Copper Bronze & Brass Tazza The Triumph of Virtue Relief.


Depicted in Copper Bronze Relief "The Triumph of Virtue” scene with Athena, the patron goddess of Athens, recognized as the goddess of wisdom and handicrafts, featured with her helmet, surrounded by eight worshippers. Athena is featured as the moral guardian expelling the vices from the garden. The background shows many Greek  buildings, some with columns, a large central Monument and citizens. A Cherub ( Perhaps Cupid or Eros) flies amongst birds above the scene.


The inner concave plate is slightly lifted towards the bottom left, and measures 5.75" in diameter.

The brass encasement is 7.25" in diameter,  and stands 3.2" Tall.

The base is 2.93" in diameter.


There are signs of age and use:

Some light green corrosion at the seams on the underside. A slight warp to the bowl. The lift of the copper Bronze plate on the left bottom side. Smoothing of the pattern on the edge, as well as the highest points of the Relief.

Corrosion near the central Monument.


This has been appraised to be circa 19th century.
