The intonation too, has been so improved as to exclude any need for "favoring" or "humoring", especially in the upper register. This cornet has been completely overhauled with no expense spared and every detail made as perfect as possible. The finish is new clear oven baked on lacquer just like the cornet had back in the day. Oven baked on lacquer is our most durable finish and will last a long time even with frequent use. The engraving is crisp and clear with new gold on the engraving and flowers a true work of art. All slides and valves operate smoothly. No deep scratches, or dents of any kind. The tuning slide and the third valve slide are stamped with the appropriately matched serial numbers. The valves are superfast and responsive with no apparent loss of air pressure.
· This cornet has new baked on lacquer (99.9% perfect).
· The gold wash is new and 99.9% perfect.
· The gold leaf is new.
· The bell has been lacquered for ease of care.
· The cornet has not been re-engraved.
