This frame is an early model KG 396 P (see serial number badge images), this frame-set has been professionally restored to its original standard and appearance.

Also including a complete frame integrity analysis, the incredible amount of meticulous work has restored this iconic track classic to a fine example of the classic Look 396.

The Look KG 396 P design is registered on 14 December 1999, with sights firmly set on the Sydney Olympic Games. A patent for the offset fork follows - EP0490120 (B1). This singular fork design was already implemented on the KG 196, 296 and adapted for the new 396 frame which carries on through today on the Look T20.

Frames with the HM designation are made of a superior reinforced carbon construction, designed to take the rigors of track sprints, substantially increasing value and manufacturing cost.

Offered is an original Look 396 P (track model), developed by Look France for the 2000 Olympic French Track Cycling Team, which has continued in use with minor updates until its current and newest version the Look T20. This 396 model was the frame of choice for a multitude of Olympic gold medal champions.

This restored mint example is one of the early KG 396 P models (see serial number badge images).

Frame-set is in overall absolutely mint condition (10 out of 10). Beautiful unblemished paint without any structural issues of any kind.

Historical Fact:

With the right legs to launch it, the KG 396 brings magic to the velodrome, and it doesn't take the French Team long to figure it out. The Sydney 2000 team includes Florian ROUSSEAU, Arnaud TOURNANT, Laurent GANE, or Felicia BALLANGER and Marion CLIGNET, and each of them races the bike to an Olympic medal.

"The Sydney Look KG 396 is probably the best bike on the track today. In fact, many other federations are envious of this absolute jewel," says Arnaud Tournant (Team Sprint Olympic Champion in Sydney 2000).

Aboard the KG 396, Arnaud Tournant was the first rider in history to crack the symbolic one-minute barrier for the 1km standing start.
