Description of item for sale:

This large painted wood pedestal with gilded trim is from France and it dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's.  The height makes it especially suitable for display of a larger piece of art, a plant or a flower arrangement.  It is finished on all sides.  It is in very good antique condition with the painted finish heavily patinated.  There are some fairly large cracks in a ring near the base where the wood has shrunk with age (see photos).  However, these areas are very solid and stable.  There is no woodworm or dry rot damage.  Dimensions: 45" tall, 12" wide and 12" deep (at the top).  (803)
