A Notched Straightedge is a unique tool for inspecting the straightness of a fingerboard while avoiding the frets.
Checking the straightness of the fingerboard rather than just the frets
is important during fretwork and setups as the frets may be straight
while the fingerboard is not.
Our Notched Straightedges are made from heavy-duty metal. The edges are
precision-ground to be perfectly straight and then notched to fit over
the frets.
We have two versions available. The stainless version is shorter and a
little more resistant to rough treatment, it is used with the end at the
first fret. The aluminium version is lighter to handle, it is used with
the end at the nut.
