I'm afraid I know very little about this guitar. As pictured inside it says "Guitarras de artesania Rodes abba. catedral, 6, Barcelona 2-Espania".

I do know it is a very rare luthier made instrument from 1974, it was owned by my father from new and was one of his most prized possesions. I have heard this guitar played frequently and it is a beautiful sounding guitar. It was purchased from the Spanish Guitar Centre in London (Cranbourne Street) in 1974 and there's a hand writted receipt included (it cost £135, so even just adjusted for inflation that's approximately £2,000 in todays money). It was never gigged, always played gently and kept in it's case at all times apart from when it was being played, so the finish hasn't faded. This case is also included with the guitar.

I'm no expert but I think it is in superb condition, I'm not sure if the pictures really do it justice. There are some very fine scratches on the rear of the instrument, these are very minor but I've made them look as obvious as I can in the pictures - to the eye they are very subtle and I suspect they could be polished out if desired.

It is really difficult to come up with a value for this instrument as they do seem very rare, so I am inviting serious offers via the make an offer button.

I have just been given some more information that is very helpful (translated from Spanish)

"The Rodes guitars are built by the luthier RICARDO SANCHIS CARPIO with the best 1 woods. As you can see, inside the guitar it has stamps on the soundboard and on the reinforcement of the rosette. These guitars are highly valued "

I will not ship this guitar, so it's cash on collection (from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP19) or I could possibly deliver it for an agreed and pre paid amount to cover fuel.
