Description 



First edition 4th printing from September 1927 (the same year as the first 3 print runs). 250pp, small 8vo, original publisher's burgundy cloth, gilt lettered and decorated with just trivial bumping to corners, pictorial dust wrapper is worn, some chips to spine ends with small loss to the "Th" of Thea, but else complete and without restoration. 

Verso of title page states that the first edition, first print run was 100,000 copies in February 1927, followed by three print runs of 50,000 copies each in March, May and September 1927 respectively, this being a September 1927 4th printing copy, with 'Metropolis' mentioned in the list of Readers Library books at front and on rear flap of dust jacket.
