Here is a very nice example of the legendary King Liberty pro trumpets of the 1940s era. This is a 1945 vintage King Liberty by H.N. White Co. made in Cleveland Ohio. This trumpet is an incredible player and has that nice vintage mid-century "art deco" look to it.  The valves are buttery smooth and  quick and the slides are all free and lubricated.  Silvery valve plating is intact and slides make a nice "pop" when pulled. The original lacquered brass finish is approx. 75% intact and has that wonderful honey/amber colored tint to it that so many collectors find desirable. This is a standard Bb trumpet - however you can easily and quickly convert it into the key of A by simply removing the tuning slide extension and pulling the remaining 3 slides out to the marked points. So you can literally change from a Bb trumpet to an A trumpet in seconds! (Photo #8 shows the horn in the "A" configuration) This trumpet was an extremely popular professional model in it's day and plays and functions as well as most modern pro trumpets.  The build quality on these vintage Kings is extraordinary. Leadpipe is in very good shape. All parts are intact. Bell engraving reads "KING LIBERTY MADE BY THE H.N. WHITE CO. CLEVELAND OHIO".  This horn has the classic and unique King Liberty tuning slide brace, adjustable 3rd slide stop rod and traditional waterkeys. Serial # is 271XXX indicating it was made in 1945 when horns were built to last! All joints on this trumpet are solid and the horn is all ready to perform. This one is very free blowing and is definitely suitable for serious player. It has a thick rich tone that isn't found in many modern pro horns. These trumpets are great for almost any musical setting, including jazz, big band and concert band. This trumpet has been play tested and is the complete package.
