1891 Hardcover books in good condition. No jacket, as issued. Kensington Limited Edition, Limited to 1000 copies. Gray cloth binding with beige title pastedown to spine. Sewn binding tight and solid and in remarkably good condition for the age of books. Gray cloth has darker smudges such as from fingerprints. Top edge gilt. Fore-edge and bottom edge rough cut. Books contain several delightful monotone illustrations by Thackeray. Several of the volumes have uncut pages, as it appears they were never read. 

29 of the volumes are from edition No. 838 stamped in red in each, with the exception of Volumne 12 which is from set 618, purchased at a separate time to complete the set. 

From Condition Description in listing - Great condition. Tight binding. No ripped pages. Minor browning to spines of all volumes. The top edge is gilt. Pages are clean and unmarked. With exception to book 12 - Was purchased outside of set to complete the set. There is denting to the top edge of book and the free end paper has an owner signature in the top right corner. This one book has a bit more wear than the others in the set, however, tight binding and no ripped papers. Please see all photos and more details on the condition below.
