It turns on, all the keys input bright red numeric large leds, says no service, roams and you hear good volume beeps. HENCE 35 years after its manufacture ET cannot phone home. Maybe some techno guru could modify it.

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE: 1. No FCN button 2. Lock button moved Ip 3. Lock letters on button small and Not capitals

The phone rates appx 9.7/10. The seller is very familiar with these (see prior listing) and can tell that this $4000 phone was kept in its leather case. This case lost to time.

Being over 35 years old the original 7.5V  ni- cad battery can SURPRISINGLY, after hours in the inclined charger, turn on the phone and briefly dial before the “LOW BATTERY” warning comes on.

The seller was able to obtain a new ni-HYDRIDE black 7.5V exact replacement from Volker Artman of GERMANY before they went out of business. This battery can be charged and operate all your bricks. These can not be bought anywhere any more.  Hence you get two batteries. One faint and one robust.

Included also is a beige car adapter with an intact and still flexible coiled line cord terminating in a black hard plastic auto 12V plug with internal fuse.

AS A SPECIAL ADD ON is a perfect cosmetic and functioning RADIO SHACK

SWITCHING REGULATED power supply cat # 22-507  output 13.8V - 3 AMPS.  So when you show friends you just plug in like in your car. Or use for ANY 12V home accessory. Takes both a plug or hard wire.  (Sells on EBAY for) $40-50. It is very compact.   Comes with heavy duty power cord.   Hence no need to use a battery.

All the internal labels are intact and only minimal/slight signs of exterior wear

The seller is highly regarded for his phone listings, and care in accuracy of description  and packaging.

This is an opportunity to own a great example of techno throw back history. They are extremely hard to find in this cosmetic and functional condition. It can store 30 numbers.   It has 20 buttons.

WARNING: NEVER ACTIVATE OR LET FRIENDS OR OF COURSE CHILDREN PLAY WITH OR ACCIDENTLY HIT THE INFAMOUS  “LOCK”  BUTTON.

IT WILL TAKE YOU DAYS TO FIGURE OUT THE ORIGINAL 3 digit numerical  CODE.  The process is on youtube.
