For sale is a Very Good+ condition leather-bound hardcover copy of The Works of Flavius Josephus, translated by William Whitson. Published 1839 by Armstrong & Berry in Baltimore, MD. Features brown leather binding and gold foil lettering and decoration to spine. Binding is sound and pages are unmarked with the exception of moderate foxing to textblock and previous owner's name penciled in beautiful handwriting on recto of frontispiece page. Leather boards are clean and square with minor ding to front tail fore edge, small scuff to front head fore edge corner, very minor spotting to back tail fore edge near spine, very minor rubbing to corners, tiny closed tear to head spine end, and minor fading to spine. Boards are now protected in a clear, removable archival sleeve. Please see photos for condition detail.
