 Polishing paste "Crocus" is made from iron oxide. According to TU 6-14-483-76 - the main document regulating the conditions for the production of this abrasive - iron oxide sludge contains 87% abrasive grains and no more than 2% moisture. As a result of calcination, moisture is removed and the Crocus powder acquires a color from dark red to black.

To obtain a high-quality polishing paste, binders are added to a homogeneous abrasive powder - stearin, paraffin, technical tallow, ceresin. An important role in the processing of materials is played by substances that affect the surface - oleic acid and sulfur.

For processing metal, wood, glass, plastic, precious metals, a small amount of crocus paste should be applied and evenly distributed on the polishing wheel. Using hand power tools or machine tools, carefully polish the surface. Every 10-15 minutes of work, the layer of Crocus polishing paste must be renewed. In order for the matting to be done evenly, do not press too hard on the work surface. Small products and details of complex shapes at the final stage should be processed manually using water or soda solution.
